Hola Prime is a forex prop firm that sells three challenges (2-Step Pro, 1-Step Prime and 2-Step Prime) and a Direct account with no evaluation. You trade forex, metals, indices, commodities and crypto CFDs on MT5, cTrader, Match-Trader or TradeLocker. Its signature feature is the payout cycle: you pick bi-weekly payouts at an 80% split, monthly payouts at 95%, or on-demand payouts at 80%, and that choice is locked in when you buy.
The prices are middle of the road: a $5,000 2-Step Prime costs $39 and a $100,000 one costs $569. The Prime plans allow news trading and weekend holding, and the fee comes back with your fourth payout. The catches are on the funded side. Every funded trade needs a stop loss, each trade idea is capped at 2% risk, and each payout costs a 2.5% processing fee. This review goes through each plan with dollar examples.
The short version
- Best for: swing and news traders on the Prime plans who already use stop losses and want to choose between more frequent payouts and a 95% split.
- Not for: traders who don't use stops, EA users on cTrader, Match-Trader or TradeLocker, and anyone on the Pro or Direct plans who wants to hold over the weekend.
- Biggest strength: flexible payout cycles with a 95% monthly split and payouts processed within an hour once reviewed.
- Biggest risk: the 2% risk-per-idea rule. Exceed it on a funded account and it's a hard breach, and Hola Prime can cut the limit to 1% for prohibited behavior.
- Our score: 3.5 out of 5. Top marks for payouts, held back by value for money and a track record we can't date.
Who runs Hola Prime
The website says it belongs to Hola Prime Limited, Hong Kong. Its terms are governed by Hong Kong law. Non-US clients go to the Hong Kong courts, while US clients agree to binding arbitration in Hong Kong or New York under JAMS rules, with a class action waiver. You must be 18 or older.
Several group companies appear in the footer. Hola Prime Limited Cyprus (registration HE 454359) is a subsidiary. MT5 is provided by Hola Prime Ltd Mauritius, which the footer says is licensed by the Mauritius Financial Services Commission as an investment dealer. That licence covers the MT5 provider, and the footer says such references don't change who owns and runs the website. Match-Trader is provided by GT Tech LLC in Boca Raton, Florida. Finance Magnates names Somesh Kapuria as founder and CEO. Hola Prime doesn't publish a founding year on the pages we read.
The site's banner says "Backed by a Regulated, Award-Winning Broker". The prop accounts themselves are simulated: the firm calls them "Sim. Funded" accounts, and payouts are paid by Hola Prime under its own rules.
The rules are spread across plan pages, a trading objectives page, an FAQ with about 60 articles and the terms. It's thorough, but details differ between them, so this review flags the conflicts.
Programs and prices
Prices below are list prices from Hola Prime's plan pages, checked on 28 October 2026, before any coupon. A 40% sale was running, so the list price is the struck-through one. All fees are one-time. An EA add-on and a swap-free add-on each cost 10% of the base fee.
A profitable day at Hola Prime means net profit of at least 0.5% of the starting balance. It matters for payouts, not for passing.
2-Step Pro
The Pro plan has the highest leverage, and the strictest funded rules.
- Phase 1: 8%. Phase 2: 5%. At least 2 trading days. No time limit.
- 5% daily loss limit and 10% static drawdown up to $100,000. The $200,000 account has 4% and 8%.
- 100x leverage. News trading and weekend holding allowed during the challenge.
- Funded: no trades opened or closed within 5 minutes of high-impact news, no weekend holding, 2% risk per trade idea, mandatory stop loss, and a cap on total open lots.
| Account | Price | Phase 1 target | Phase 2 target | Daily loss | Max loss | Funded lot cap |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $5,000 | $59 | $400 | $250 | $250 | $500 | None |
| $10,000 | $109 | $800 | $500 | $500 | $1,000 | None |
| $25,000 | $229 | $2,000 | $1,250 | $1,250 | $2,500 | 10 lots |
| $50,000 | $384 | $4,000 | $2,500 | $2,500 | $5,000 | 20 lots |
| $100,000 | $681 | $8,000 | $5,000 | $5,000 | $10,000 | 40 lots |
| $200,000 | $1,199 | $16,000 | $10,000 | $8,000 | $16,000 | 80 lots |
Worked example, $100,000 2-Step Pro. Your floor is $90,000 and never moves. The daily limit is 5% of the previous day's closing balance, so after a $102,000 close you can lose $5,100 the next day, down to $96,900. You need $108,000 to pass phase 1 and $105,000 in phase 2. Once funded, no single trade idea can risk more than $2,000, every trade needs a stop, and your open positions can't total more than 40 lots.
1-Step Prime
One phase, tighter limits, and the freedom to trade news and hold over weekends.
- Make 10% with a 3% daily loss limit and a 6% static maximum loss.
- At least 2 trading days. No time limit. 50x leverage.
- News trading and weekend holding allowed in the challenge and when funded.
- Funded: 2% risk per trade idea, mandatory stop loss.
| Account | Price | Profit target | Daily loss | Max loss |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $5,000 | $49 | $500 | $150 | $300 |
| $10,000 | $89 | $1,000 | $300 | $600 |
| $25,000 | $215 | $2,500 | $750 | $1,500 |
| $50,000 | $329 | $5,000 | $1,500 | $3,000 |
| $100,000 | $579 | $10,000 | $3,000 | $6,000 |
| $200,000 | $1,049 | $20,000 | $6,000 | $12,000 |
Hola Prime's add-ons article uses a $499 1-Step Prime $100,000 in its example, while the plan page lists $579. Check the checkout price.
Worked example, $50,000 1-Step Prime. Your floor is $47,000. On day one you can lose up to $1,500. You need $55,000 to pass, which means making $5,000 with only $3,000 of total room. That ratio rewards traders with a high win rate or a good reward-to-risk; one rough week can end the account.
2-Step Prime
The cheapest plan, and the one Hola Prime markets to swing and news traders.
- Phase 1: 8%. Phase 2: 5%. At least 3 trading days per phase.
- 5% daily loss limit and 10% static maximum loss up to $100,000. The $200,000 account has 4% and 8%.
- 50x leverage. News trading and weekend holding allowed in the challenge and when funded.
- Funded: 2% risk per trade idea, mandatory stop loss.
| Account | Price | Phase 1 target | Phase 2 target | Daily loss | Max loss |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $5,000 | $39 | $400 | $250 | $250 | $500 |
| $10,000 | $69 | $800 | $500 | $500 | $1,000 |
| $25,000 | $179 | $2,000 | $1,250 | $1,250 | $2,500 |
| $50,000 | $319 | $4,000 | $2,500 | $2,500 | $5,000 |
| $100,000 | $569 | $8,000 | $5,000 | $5,000 | $10,000 |
| $200,000 | $1,079 | $16,000 | $10,000 | $8,000 | $16,000 |
Worked example, $100,000 2-Step Prime. Your floor is $90,000. Pass phase 1 at $108,000 and phase 2 at $105,000, each with 3 trading days. Pick the monthly cycle and a $6,000 profit month pays you 95%, or $5,700, before the 2.5% processing fee of $142.50.
Direct Account
No evaluation. You start on a Sim. Funded account straight away.
- 7% maximum loss that trails your high-water mark at end of day, then locks at the starting balance once you're up 7%.
- 3% daily loss limit from the previous day's close.
- 2% risk per trade idea, mandatory stop loss, 20% consistency rule.
- Bi-weekly payouts. No EAs, no trading within 5 minutes of high-impact news, and no weekend holding.
| Account | Price | Daily loss | Max loss | Max risk per idea |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $5,000 | $109 | $150 | $350 | $100 |
| $10,000 | $199 | $300 | $700 | $200 |
| $25,000 | $439 | $750 | $1,750 | $500 |
| $50,000 | $829 | $1,500 | $3,500 | $1,000 |
| $100,000 | $1,259 | $3,000 | $7,000 | $2,000 |
Worked example, $100,000 Direct. Your floor starts at $93,000. Close a day at $102,000 and it rises to $95,000. Once the account reaches $107,000, the floor locks at $100,000. To get paid with $10,000 of profit, your best day can't be more than $2,000.
Which Hola Prime plan should you pick?
2-Step Prime is the best value and the most flexible. A static 10% floor, a 5% daily limit, news and weekend holding allowed, and the lowest prices. If you swing trade or trade news, this is the one.
1-Step Prime suits traders who want one phase and keep losses small. The 10% target against 6% of room is demanding.
2-Step Pro gives you 100x leverage, but the funded rules are tighter: no news window trades, no weekends and a lot cap. It costs more than 2-Step Prime at every size. Pick it only if you really need the higher leverage.
Direct costs about $12.60 to $21.80 per $1,000 of funding, two to three times the challenges, and adds a trailing floor, a 20% consistency rule and a weekend ban. It's for experienced traders who want to skip the test.
Measured by cost per $1,000 of funding, the cheapest option is the $200,000 1-Step Prime at $1,049, about $5.25 per $1K. For value with room, we like the $100,000 2-Step Prime at $569 ($5.69 per $1K), which keeps the full 10% and 5% limits that the $200,000 size loses.
Trading rules in practice
Drawdown and the daily reset
| Plan | Daily loss | Maximum loss |
|---|---|---|
| 2-Step Pro | 5% (4% on $200K) | 10% static (8% on $200K) |
| 1-Step Prime | 3% | 6% static |
| 2-Step Prime | 5% (4% on $200K) | 10% static (8% on $200K) |
| Direct | 3% | 7% end-of-day trailing, locks at the start after +7% |
The daily limit is a percentage of the previous day's closing balance (the starting balance on day one), and it counts open and closed losses together. It resets at 17:00 EST server time. Touching either limit is a hard breach that closes the account.
There's one exception. If a profitable account breaks the daily limit, Hola Prime says you can still get your reward and fee refund, provided no single trade made or lost more than 1% of the starting balance and every trade had a stop loss.
Risk per trade idea and stop losses
On every funded and Direct account:
- Each trade idea can risk at most 2% of the starting balance. Positions in the same asset and direction count as one idea, and so does re-entering the same trade within 10 minutes.
- A stop loss is mandatory on every trade. A loss above 2% on a trade without a stop is a breach.
- If Hola Prime finds prohibited behavior, it can cut your limit to 1%.
On a $50,000 account that's $1,000 per idea. If you stack three EUR/USD longs with combined stops worth $1,200, that's a breach even if the trade wins.
Leverage and fees
The Prime plans use 50x on forex, 5x on exotics, 2x on commodities, 10x on indices and metals, and 1x on crypto. Direct also lists 50x, and the 2-Step Pro lists 100x.
Commissions are $3 per lot per side on forex and gold, $1.50 per lot per side on other commodities, and nothing on indices or crypto. A 2-lot EUR/USD round trip costs $12. MT5 also caps you at 100 open orders and 1,000 positions per day.
News and weekends
| Plan | News trading | Weekend holding |
|---|---|---|
| 1-Step and 2-Step Prime | Allowed, no restrictions | Allowed |
| 2-Step Pro challenge | Allowed | Allowed |
| 2-Step Pro funded | No opening or closing within 5 minutes either side of high-impact news | Not allowed: trades closed at 15:45 EST Friday, account paused until Monday |
| Direct | Same 5-minute window; a stop or target hit inside it counts | Not allowed |
On Pro funded accounts, profits from trades in the news window are reversed. On Direct, a news violation can close the account. Holding a position through the window is fine on both. The FAQ lists the releases it treats as high-impact, such as US CPI, non-farm payrolls, Fed decisions and crude oil inventories. Use the news trading calendar in your dashboard.
The documents disagree on weekends for Direct. The breaches article calls weekend holding a soft breach, while the Direct FAQ calls it a hard breach that terminates the account. Treat it as a hard breach.
EAs, copy trading and hedging
- EAs are allowed only on MT5 and only with the EA add-on (+10% of the base fee). They're not allowed on cTrader, Match-Trader, TradeLocker or Direct accounts. Hola Prime can ask for your EA's settings or source code.
- Copy trading between your own accounts is allowed, but on Sim. Funded accounts only one master and one copier. Copying from other prop firms is banned for accounts bought from 15 September 2026.
- Hedging is allowed inside one account but banned across accounts. Hedge arbitrage is banned.
- Also banned: martingale, tick scalping, HFT, latency and reverse arbitrage, and copying someone else's signals.
Consistency
The challenges have no consistency rule. It only applies to Direct (best day 20% or less of total profit) and to the on-demand payout cycle (a 40% consistency score).
Account limits and inactivity
You can hold up to four $50,000, two $100,000 or one $200,000 Sim. Funded and Direct accounts at once. Residents of Nigeria, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, Israel, Thailand, Botswana, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Jamaica and Mozambique are capped at $90,000 in forex. Open at least one new trade every 30 calendar days or the account is suspended. Closing trades or moving stops doesn't count.
How payouts work
You choose the payout cycle at checkout and can't change it later:
| Cycle | Split | When you can request | Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bi-weekly | 80% | Every 14 days | 3 profitable days in the cycle |
| Monthly | 95% | Every 30 days | 7 profitable days in the cycle |
| On demand | 80% | Any time | 40% consistency score and 2% total profit |
Direct accounts pay bi-weekly, every 14 calendar days from your first trade.
Speed and fees. Each request goes through an account review of up to 24 business hours, then it's processed within 1 hour. Payouts run on business days only. A 2.5% processing fee applies to every payout, with a minimum of $25 for bank wire and Rise and $5 for crypto. On a $2,400 payout that's $60, leaving $2,340.
Methods and minimums. Bank wire and crypto (BTC, ETH, USDC, USDT on ERC-20 or TRC-20) have a $50 minimum, excluding Hola Prime's share. Rise has a $500 minimum. If Rise doesn't work in your country, you're paid in crypto.
KYC. Identity checks start after you pass the challenge, and verification can take 48 to 72 hours after you sign the agreement. Your first payout also needs a completed KYC interview.
Fee refund. You get 100% of the challenge fee back with your fourth successful payout from the same account. It's forex only, and add-on fees aren't refunded. That's a refundable fee, but a slow one.
Scaling. After at least 4 months with 10% net profit, 2 profitable months and 2 processed payouts, your account grows by 25% of the starting balance, then 40% and then 50% per step, up to $4 million.
Hola Prime's own documents don't line up on a few points:
| Topic | Plan pages | FAQ | Terms |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fee refund | Pro page: "Pass your challenge, and we reimburse your account fee" | With the 4th payout | With the 4th payout (section 20.13) |
| Direct split | Bi-weekly at 90% | 80% default, 90% with an add-on | Not stated |
| Direct weekend holding | Not allowed | Breaches article: soft breach. Direct FAQ: hard breach | Not stated |
| Total paid to traders | Direct page: "9M+" | Not stated | Not stated |
Hola Prime's payout transparency page says "$10M+" in its heading and "more than $7 million" in its text. Plan on the refund coming with the fourth payout and the Direct split being 80% unless you buy the add-on.
Who can sign up
Hola Prime's terms bar residents of Afghanistan, Belarus, Burundi, China, Cuba, Congo, Sudan, Sri Lanka, North Korea and Yemen. The terms don't say which Congo, so check with support if either applies to you. The $90,000 allocation cap above applies to eleven more countries.
US residents can sign up. The terms include a separate arbitration clause for US clients, and Match-Trader is run by a US company. You must be 18 or older and pass KYC before your first payout.
Reputation
On Trustpilot, Hola Prime scores 4.5 out of 5 from 4,089 reviews, checked on 28 October 2026. 84% of reviews give five stars, 6% four stars, under 1% three or two stars, and 9% one star. Hola Prime claimed its profile in August 2024, pays for a Trustpilot subscription, invites customers to review, and had replied to 99% of negative reviews, typically within a week. See the Trustpilot page.
Context matters here. Finance Magnates reported on 10 July 2025 that Hola Prime once had over 1,300 Trustpilot reviews, but only 49 remained after Trustpilot acted, with most classified as fake. The current profile shows no warning.
The positive reviews mostly praise fast payouts, polite support staff and a clear dashboard. The negative ones focus on accounts closed for hard breaches or news violations that traders call unfair, slow KYC, refund denials and some payout delays.
Hola Prime publishes a transparency report with a forex challenge pass rate of 25.07% for 15 October 2025 to 30 September 2026, and claims an average payout time of 12 minutes 34 seconds. We couldn't verify those figures independently. We found no regulator actions against Hola Prime.
Hola Prime vs the alternatives

| Cheapest plan | $39 | $43 | $29 | $33 |
| Cheapest per $1K | $5.25 | $5.41 | $4.44 | $3.99 |

| Our score | 3.6 | 3.1 | 4.6 | 3.9 |
- Funded Trader Markets: similar rules and price, so compare the details before you choose.
- FundingPips: worth a look if you want cheaper funding ($4.44 vs $5.25 per $1K) and a higher split (up to 100% vs 95%).
- FundedNext: worth a look if you want cheaper funding ($3.99 vs $5.25 per $1K) and MT4.
Mistakes to avoid at Hola Prime
- Trading without a stop loss on a funded account. It's mandatory on every trade. A loss above 2% without one is a breach.
- Splitting one idea into several positions. Same asset, same direction, or a re-entry within 10 minutes, all count as one idea against the 2% cap.
- Picking the wrong payout cycle. You can't change it later. If you trade a few big days a month, monthly at 95% beats bi-weekly at 80%, but you need 7 profitable days.
- Holding into the weekend on Pro or Direct. Pro accounts get closed and paused; Direct accounts get terminated.
- Buying the EA add-on for the wrong platform. EAs only run on MT5, and never on Direct.
- Forgetting the processing fee. Small bank payouts pay at least $25, so a $500 payout loses 5%.
Before you buy: checklist
- Choose Prime over Pro unless you need 100x leverage.
- Decide your payout cycle before checkout; it's permanent.
- Make sure every strategy you run uses a stop loss and risks under 2% per idea.
- Pick MT5 if you plan to use an EA, and add the EA add-on.
- Check your country against the restricted list and the $90,000 cap list.
- Use code SCOUT at checkout. See our Hola Prime coupon page for how to apply it.
Our verdict
Hola Prime is a good fit for disciplined forex traders who already use stops and size small. The 2-Step Prime, with a static 10% floor, news and weekend holding allowed and the option of a 95% monthly split, is the plan we'd pick, and payouts processed within an hour of approval are a real plus.
The costs add up, though. You pay a 2.5% fee on every payout, the fee refund waits for your fourth payout, and the funded rules on risk per idea and stop losses leave little room for error. Read the plan page and the FAQ for your account, and assume the stricter version wherever they disagree.
