Glossary · Static drawdown

What is static drawdown?

A loss limit fixed to the starting balance that never moves.

With static drawdown, your floor is set once — for example 10% below the starting balance — and stays there no matter how much profit you make.

It's the easiest type to plan around, because profits give you more room instead of dragging the floor up behind you.

Example

Start at $100K with 10% static: the floor is $90,000. Grow to $110,000 and the floor is still $90,000.
