How we rate prop firms.

Five scores out of 5 — four from each firm's published prices and rules, one from its reputation — combined into one overall score. Our editors can set a firm's overall score after hands-on review; its Ratings tab says when they have.

The five scores

ScoreWeightWhat it measures
Value for money25%The lowest cost per $1K of funding across the firm's plans, including any one-time activation fee, compared with every other firm in the same market. Monthly plans count one month.
Payout terms25%How often you can withdraw (on demand and daily score highest), how soon the first payout is allowed, the highest profit split and the number of payout methods.
Rule flexibility20%Plans without intraday trailing drawdown, whether news trading, weekend holding and EAs are allowed, consistency rules, daily loss limits, time limits and minimum trading days.
Track record10%Years since the firm was founded. Firms that don't publish a founding year get the lowest track-record score.
Reputation20%The firm's Trustpilot TrustScore, counted in full from 200 reviews (fewer pull it toward a neutral 3.5), minus points for each documented payout denial in the last 12 months and for any Trustpilot warning. Firms with no Trustpilot page score 2.5.

Each firm's Score breakdown tab lists the facts behind every score, so you can see exactly why it landed where it did.

Where the data comes from

  • The firm's own website, rulebook, FAQ and help center — never review or comparison sites.
  • List prices for every plan and account size, before any code or sale.
  • When a firm doesn't publish something, we show “not stated” rather than guess.

Firms marked Verified list the pages we used and the date we checked them. Firms without enough public information show Data pending and aren't scored.

When we don't recommend a firm

A firm is marked not recommended and taken out of every list, ranking and coupon when:

  • a regulator acted against it, or reputable news or the firm itself reported payouts denied or withheld in the last 12 months;
  • its Trustpilot TrustScore is below 3.0 from 100 or more reviews, or Trustpilot shows a warning about its reviews;
  • its company or official site can't be verified.

Firms rated 3.0–3.9 on Trustpilot, or with payout complaints we couldn't confirm with news or a regulator, stay listed with a visible warning. Every claim links to its source and date. Posts on X are cited but never used alone. See not recommended firms, closed firms and rule changes.

What scores leave out

Support quality can't be measured from a website, so it isn't in the score. Trustpilot reflects traders' experiences, including support, in the reputation score.

What doesn't affect scores

Commissions from the coupon code or partner links, advertising and sponsorships. A firm can't pay for a better score or a higher position. See how we earn.

If a firm changes a rule we update the page and log it on rule changes. If you think we got something wrong, tell us.
