Glossary · Consistency rule

What is a consistency rule?

A cap on how much of your total profit can come from a single day or trade.

A consistency rule stops one lucky day from passing the evaluation or funding a big payout. A typical rule says no single day can be more than 30% to 50% of your total profit.

If you break it you usually aren't failed — you just need to keep trading until the ratio is back within the limit.

Example

With a 40% rule and $5,000 total profit, your best day can't be more than $2,000.
