Lux Trading Firm Review
UK firm with a refundable 1-step evaluation, a one-off-payout instant option and a prediction-markets track.
About Lux Trading Firm
Lux Trading Firm is a forex prop firm founded in 2020, based in United Kingdom. It sells 3 programs — 1-Step Evaluation, Instant Funding (Insta) and Prediction Markets Challenge — with accounts from $5K to $1M and prices from £45. You trade on Match-Trader. Funded traders keep up to 80% of profits, paid on demand.
Our verdict
“Suits traders who want a large, low-fee 1-step test and can live with strict per-trade risk rules. The instant option is closer to a one-off prize than ongoing funding.”

Lux Trading Firm is a UK and Dubai prop firm that sells one-step evaluations and "INSTA" instant accounts, priced in pounds but sized in dollars. You can trade forex, metals, indices, energies, stock CFDs and crypto on Lux's own TradingView-based platform or MT5, and Lux also lets you copy trades in from another broker through Match-Trader. Pass the evaluation and you keep 80% of profits on a funded account that can scale to $10,000,000.
The prices look very low for the size. A $100,000 evaluation costs £199, a $1,000,000 one costs £699, the fee comes back in full when you pass, and there's no daily loss limit or time limit. The catch is the rulebook. Lux fixes how much you can risk on every trade, caps how much any single trade can make, requires a stop loss on every entry, and hands funded traders personal risk rules on top. Its own pages also disagree on a couple of prices and on how payouts are calculated. This review goes through all of it with dollar examples.
The short version
- Best for: patient, rules-first traders who already size every trade as a fixed percentage of risk and are happy to grind out many small wins.
- Not for: traders who want one or two big winners to carry an account, anyone who trades without a hard stop, and people who want a regular monthly split from an instant account.
- Biggest strength: cheap, refundable evaluations on very large accounts, with a static drawdown and no daily loss limit.
- Biggest risk: the risk consistency and single-trade profit rules. They're strict, they're judged by a risk desk, and breaking them can cost you the account or the profits.
- Our score: 4.6 out of 5. It scores top marks on value and on-demand payouts, and loses points on rule flexibility.
Who runs Lux Trading Firm
Lux's footer dates the business to 2020, and the earliest entry on its "longest funded traders" leaderboard is 3 October 2020. The terms name the contracting company as Lux Trading Firm Ltd, UK company number 13160991, at 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX. The footer also lists a Dubai affiliate, Lux Trading Firm ME L.L.C-FZ (registration 2311235.01, Emaar Square 4). The sanctions declaration on the order page says Lux operates in the UK, UAE, Cyprus and Montenegro.
The terms and conditions say UK law governs and only UK courts can decide disputes. There's no arbitration clause. Two clauses oddly refer to St. Lucia law, one on lawful use of the services and one describing funded traders as performance-paid "Strategy/Signal Providers". Lux doesn't explain the reference, but it's in the contract you accept.
The homepage calls Lux an "officially regulated member of TPA" without saying what TPA is. The footer, on the other hand, says neither company carries out regulated activities and Lux isn't required to be authorized. Treat Lux as an unregulated prop firm.
Demo or live? The evaluation is a demo account. Lux's rules say funded stages run on an A-book model, with trades passed to its liquidity providers (the homepage names FX Edge), and the homepage says Lux "never" trades against you. Clause 15.9 of the terms says something different: Lux may act as the direct counterparty to some trades and admits this creates "an inherent potential conflict of interest." INSTA accounts start on demo, and the risk desk may move them to a live account at its discretion.
Where the rules live. Lux has two rulebooks online. The new trading rules apply to accounts bought and activated on or after 22 September 2025. The old trading rules still govern older accounts and describe a very different program (two stages, 29 minimum trading days, a 75% split). If you're buying today, only the new page applies to you.
Programs and prices
Lux sells two forex and CFD products: the 1-Step Evaluation and Instant Funding (INSTA). Prices are in pounds; account sizes, targets and payouts are in dollars. Prices below are list prices from the homepage, plan pages and order page, checked on 28 October 2026, before any coupon.
Lux also sells a separate Prediction Markets program (10K, 20K and 50K accounts for £85, £170 and £350, with a 7-day free trial) and an Elite package with mentoring. We don't cover either in detail here. Note that the terms say Elite buyers don't get their fee back after stage 1.
1-Step Evaluation
One stage on a demo account, then a funded account that scales every time you make 10%.
- Target: 10% on $100K, 12% on $400K, 15% on $1M.
- Maximum loss: 6%, static, measured from the starting balance.
- Daily loss limit: none in the current rules.
- Time limits: no minimum or maximum trading days.
- Risk per trade: a fixed percentage of your remaining risk capital, never more than 5% of it.
- Single-trade profit cap: any one trade (or group of related trades) can bank at most 5% of the stage's target.
- Stop loss: required before you enter every trade.
- Funded split: 80%. The fee is refunded in full after you pass and the risk desk approves.
| Account | Price | Target | Max loss | Floor | Max risk on first trade | Profit cap per trade | Reset fee |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $100,000 | £199 | $10,000 (10%) | $6,000 | $94,000 | $300 | $500 | £139 |
| $400,000 | £449 | $48,000 (12%) | $24,000 | $376,000 | $1,200 | $2,400 | £299 |
| $1,000,000 | £699 | $150,000 (15%) | $60,000 | $940,000 | $3,000 | $7,500 | £699 |
The $1M price isn't consistent. The homepage, plan page and order page all show £699, but the new rules page says "a one-time fee of £999." The checkout price is what you'll pay, so confirm it there. A reset on the $1M costs the same £699 as a new account.
Worked example, $100,000 evaluation. Your account can never close below $94,000, and that floor never moves. There's no separate daily limit, so your "daily room" is whatever is left above $94,000. What actually limits you is the risk rule: on day one your remaining risk capital is $6,000, so no trade can risk more than $300 (5%). To pass you need the balance at $110,000. Because no single trade can bank more than $500, you need at least 20 winning trades to get there, and more once you count losers. Say you pick 2% as your fixed risk: your first trade risks $120. Lose it and the next one risks $117.60 (2% of $5,880). Win $360 instead and the next one risks $127.20 (2% of $6,360).
Instant Funding (INSTA)
INSTA is not a normal funded account. It's a one-off task with a fixed reward.
- Reach a 12% profit target on a demo account without breaking any rule.
- 6% static maximum loss, no daily limit, no minimum or maximum days.
- When you hit the target with no open positions, you request a withdrawal. After a risk desk review you receive 80% of the profit target, paid once.
- The fee is not refunded, pass or fail, and INSTA accounts don't scale.
- The terms add that Lux may tell you you've reached the target, at which point you must stop trading.
| Account | Price | Target | Max loss | Floor | One-time payout | Reset fee |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $100,000 | £299 | $12,000 (12%) | $6,000 | $94,000 | $9,600 | £209 |
| $400,000 | £499 | $48,000 (12%) | $24,000 | $376,000 | $38,400 | £549 |
Another price clash: clause 16.5 of the terms prices the $400K INSTA at £699, while every sales page and the checkout show £499.
Worked example, $100,000 INSTA. You pay £299. The floor is $94,000 and the target is $112,000. Hit it cleanly and you're paid $9,600, which is 80% of $12,000. If you overshoot and close at $115,000, you're still paid 80% of the target, not of the $15,000 you made. The risk rule still applies: your first trade can risk at most $300. The rules page doesn't give an INSTA example for the single-trade cap, but applied as written it would be $600 (5% of $12,000), so again you need 20 or more winners.
The homepage line "Start earning 80% profits from the first trade" oversells this. You earn nothing until you reach the target, and then you earn a fixed amount once.
Which Lux Trading Firm plan should you pick?
For most traders the $100,000 evaluation is the right first purchase. It has the lowest target (10%), the cheapest reset (£139), and the £199 fee comes back when you pass. It's the gentlest way to learn whether you can live with the risk consistency rule.
The $400,000 evaluation is the best value once you're confident in the rules. At £449 it costs about £1.12 per $1,000 of funding, the 12% target is still realistic, and passing puts you two steps closer to the $10M stage than the $100K route.
The $1,000,000 evaluation is the cheapest per dollar: £699 works out to £0.70 per $1,000, which our score converts to about $0.93. But the 15% target is two and a half times the 6% loss limit, and a failed attempt costs another £699 to reset. Only buy it if your process is already proven on a smaller Lux account.
INSTA is a fixed-odds bet. The $400K version pays $38,400 for a £499 fee, which is a striking ratio, but you get one payout and the account doesn't continue or scale. If you can make 12% under these rules, you can probably pass the evaluation too, and that path gives you your fee back plus an ongoing 80% split.
| Plan | Price | Cost per $1K |
|---|---|---|
| $100K evaluation | £199 | £1.99 |
| $400K evaluation | £449 | £1.12 |
| $1M evaluation | £699 | £0.70 |
| $100K INSTA | £299 | £2.99 |
| $400K INSTA | £499 | £1.25 |
Trading rules in practice
Drawdown, and why there's no daily reset
Every current Lux account uses a 6% static drawdown. The floor is set once from the starting balance and never trails your profits. Lux's current rules don't publish a daily loss limit, so there's no daily reset time to track. That's uncommon; see our list of firms with no daily loss limit for others.
Two cautions. First, the old rulebook used a "relative" drawdown that trailed your highest balance. Accounts activated on or after 22 September 2025 use the static version. Second, once you're funded, the risk desk sends you personalized risk rules by email (clause 15.3 of the terms). Those can be tighter than the published ones, and you have to follow them.
The risk consistency rule
This is the rule most negative Lux reviews complain about. Lux defines your remaining risk capital (RRC) as your current balance minus the drawdown floor. You choose a fixed percentage of RRC to risk per trade, and you must use that same percentage for every trade in the stage. The maximum is 5%. Risk is measured when you open the trade: the distance from entry to stop, times your size. That's why a stop loss is mandatory before you enter.
Here's what that does on a $100,000 account, where the floor is $94,000:
| Balance | Remaining risk capital | Max risk per trade (5%) | Risk at a fixed 2% |
|---|---|---|---|
| $97,000 | $3,000 | $150 | $60 |
| $100,000 | $6,000 | $300 | $120 |
| $104,000 | $10,000 | $500 | $200 |
| $108,000 | $14,000 | $700 | $280 |
Your size shrinks automatically when you lose and grows when you win. That makes it hard to blow the account, and it also makes a deep hole slow to climb out of. You can't double up to recover.
Multiple positions. Your combined open risk can't exceed your chosen per-trade risk. To add a trade, you first have to neutralize risk by moving an existing stop to break-even or closing a position, and the new trade can only risk the amount you freed up. The old rules allowed about 20% wiggle room on the percentage; the new rules don't mention any tolerance, so keep your sizing exact. Lux's risk per trade rule is effectively its consistency rule.
The single-trade profit cap
Each position can bank at most 5% of the stage's profit target: $500 on the $100K evaluation, $2,400 on the $400K and $7,500 on the $1M. Positions in the same symbol and direction, in highly correlated symbols in the same direction, or in inversely correlated symbols in the opposite direction all count as one trade. Closing and reopening the same idea, or moving a stop to break-even and adding, doesn't reset the cap. Lux calls those workarounds cheating and says they can lead to termination and a ban.
Combine the two rules and you get a hidden ceiling on reward-to-risk. On the $100K account a full 5% risk trade risks $300 and can bank $500, about 1.7 to 1. Once your balance passes $104,000, a full-risk trade risks more than it's allowed to win. In practice, risking 1% to 2% of RRC with targets of 2R to 4R fits inside both rules: at 2% your first trade risks $120, and 4R is $480, just under the $500 cap.
Stop losses and news
- Every trade needs a stop loss before entry. Missing one is a breach, and repeated breaches can fail the evaluation.
- You can move a stop to break-even or into profit once a trade moves your way.
- You can't adjust a stop within 30 seconds before or after a news event.
- News bracketing (pending buy and sell orders around a release) is banned. The penalty is termination and loss of accumulated profits.
The new rules don't ban trading the news itself. The old rules said news trading was allowed, but they no longer apply to new accounts, so treat news as allowed only with a pre-set stop and nothing clever around the release.
Leverage, spreads and commissions
The current rules don't state leverage, spreads or commissions, so we can't give a round-trip cost example. The old rulebook listed 1:30 on forex, indices, energies and metals and 1:5 on stock CFDs and crypto, but that document only governs pre-September 2025 accounts. Check the leverage on your platform after you log in. At least one recent Trustpilot reviewer complained about slippage, so watch your fills.
Weekend and overnight holding
The new rules say nothing about holding over the weekend or overnight. The old rules said weekend holding was allowed. Ask support in writing before you plan to carry trades through a weekend, and remember that a weekend gap can blow straight through a stop and break your risk percentage.
EAs, copy trading and multiple accounts
- High-frequency trading is banned, defined as more than 2,500 server messages in 24 hours or fully automated systems that create excessive trades. Breaking it ends the account.
- "Well-behaving" EAs are allowed on the copy-from account in a trade-copy setup, or directly on Match-Trader through Level2.
- Copy trading and trade-mirroring tools are allowed, as long as every copied trade obeys the risk rules.
- You can hold up to 5 evaluation accounts at once and copy between them.
- You can hold up to 5 INSTA accounts, but you can't copy between them or hold similar trades (same symbol, same side or closely correlated) across INSTA accounts, or between INSTA and evaluation accounts.
- Arbitrage of any kind, including latency or price-feed tricks, is banned and costs you the account and profits.
Minimum activity and discretion
There are no minimum trading days and no time limit. The terms don't state an inactivity rule. They do give Lux wide discretion: clause 10.1 lets it decline to count specific trades when judging whether you passed or scaled, and clause 15.5 says three documented breaches of your personal risk rules can get you expelled.
How payouts work
The split is 80% on every funded stage of the evaluation, all the way to the $10M Fund Manager account. INSTA pays 80% of the target once, as covered above.
Timing. The rules page promises "instant withdrawals": you can request one any time your account is in profit, with no fixed cycle, as long as all positions are closed. Withdrawn profit still counts toward your next scaling target, so taking money out doesn't slow your progress.
The terms add a layer the rules page leaves out. Article 13 says results for stage 3 and above, and all scaling decisions, are calculated on the first weekend of each month for the previous month. Open profits don't count, open losses do, and realized losses from earlier months must be recovered before you have a positive result (a high-water mark). For example, if you lose $3,000 in one month on a $200,000 stage-3 account and make $5,000 the next, your net result is $2,000 and your 80% share is $1,600.
Here's how Lux's own documents line up:
| Topic | Rules and sales pages | Terms or other pages |
|---|---|---|
| Payout timing | Any time you're in profit, no fixed cycle | Stage 3 and up calculated monthly, on the first weekend (Art. 13) |
| Fee refund | 100% after passing stage one | Art. 8.1: no refund once login details are sent; the pass refund isn't mentioned |
| $1M evaluation price | £699 (homepage, plan page, checkout) | £999 (new rules page) |
| $400K INSTA price | £499 (homepage, plan page, checkout) | £699 (Art. 16.5) |
| Who takes the other side | A-book; "we never trade against you" | Lux may act as direct counterparty (Art. 15.9) |
The terms say the trading rules form part of the contract, so the pass refund should stand. Still, take a screenshot of the refund promise when you buy.
Methods and minimums. Lux doesn't publish payout methods, a minimum withdrawal or a processing time on the pages we checked. For paying fees, the order page refers to bank wires, PayPal, Wise and crypto. Ask support how you'll be paid before you buy.
Fee refund. The full fee comes back after you pass stage one and the risk desk signs off. The rules don't say when or how it's paid. INSTA and Elite fees are never refunded.
Identity checks. KYC happens up front: the order page asks you to upload two ID documents before checkout.
Scaling. Every 10% gain on a funded account moves you up a size. This is the path from the $100,000 evaluation:
| Stage | Account | Profit to move up | Max loss | Split |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 (demo) | $100,000 | $10,000 | $6,000 | Fee refund |
| 2 (funded) | $100,000 | $10,000 | $6,000 | 80% |
| 3 | $200,000 | $20,000 | $12,000 | 80% |
| 4 | $400,000 | $40,000 | $24,000 | 80% |
| 5 | $1,000,000 | $100,000 | $60,000 | 80% |
| 6 | $2,500,000 | $250,000 | $150,000 | 80% |
| 7 (Fund Manager) | $10,000,000 | none | $600,000 | 80% |
The $400K evaluation joins this ladder at $400,000 (funded target $40,000) and the $1M joins at $1,000,000 (funded target $100,000). Remember the profit cap follows the target: on a $100K funded stage it's still $500 per trade. The ladder runs to $10,000,000, the largest scaling plan size Lux advertises.
Who can sign up
Lux doesn't publish a list of countries that can't buy an account, and its About page claims traders in 160 countries. What it does publish is a sanctions declaration for payments. Residents of these places can't pay by bank wire, PayPal or Wise, though crypto is exempt: Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk, Russia, Belarus, Afghanistan, Myanmar, Central African Republic, Côte d'Ivoire, DR Congo, Cuba, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Haiti, Iran, Iraq, Liberia, Libya, North Korea, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, Yemen and Zimbabwe.
The terms say anyone from those countries caught using those payment methods loses access with no refund, reset or new account. The US isn't mentioned anywhere we looked. ID upload is part of checkout, so you'll find out quickly if there's a problem. If you're unsure, email support before paying.
Reputation
On Trustpilot, Lux Trading Firm scores 4.0 out of 5 from 626 reviews, checked on 28 October 2026. Of those, 77% are five stars, 9% four stars, 2% three stars, 1% two stars and 11% one star. Lux claimed its profile in January 2021 and has replied to 100% of negative reviews, typically within 24 hours. Trustpilot also notes that Lux hasn't invited customers to review recently, so the reviews may not be representative. See the Trustpilot page.
Read the recent reviews closely. Many of the newest five-star reviews are about the free Prediction Markets contest, not the forex evaluations. The positive reviews about trading mention the lack of a daily drawdown, the pricing and the A-book setup. The negative ones mostly say the risk-per-trade rule makes targets slow or near impossible, report payouts or prize accounts withheld over rule breaches, and mention slippage and slow withdrawals. Lux's replies usually point to a specific rule the trader broke.
Two more things to weigh. The terms let Lux terminate an account for "posting fake reviews" or "false accusations," which it judges for itself. And the testimonials on Lux's homepage repeatedly mention a "free reset account," while the current rules only list paid resets, so ask what that refers to before you count on one.
We found no regulator warnings or news reports about Lux Trading Firm in Finance Magnates, FX News Group or FinanceFeeds as of 28 October 2026. The homepage advertises payout proofs, but the section holds videos with no amounts, and we didn't find a published audit behind the "audited track record" claim.

Mistakes to avoid at Lux Trading Firm
- Entering without a stop. It's a breach every time, and Lux can't measure your risk without it. Set the stop in the order ticket, not after the fill.
- Changing your risk percentage mid-stage. Pick one figure, say 1.5% of RRC, and use it for every trade until you pass. Bumping size after a losing streak is exactly what the rule is built to catch.
- Stacking trades. A second position has to fit inside your chosen per-trade risk, and same-direction trades in highly correlated pairs (EUR/USD and GBP/USD, for example) can be treated as one trade for the profit cap. Neutralize risk before adding anything.
- Letting a winner run past the cap. On a $100K account the cap is $500 per trade, and the rules don't spell out what happens to profit above it. Take profit at or before the cap, and never split entries to get around it.
- Touching your stop around news. No stop changes within 30 seconds either side of a release, and no straddles.
- Buying INSTA for an income. It pays once, at 80% of the target, and then it's done.
Before you buy: checklist
- Read the new rules page (for accounts activated on or after 22 September 2025), not the old one.
- Check the checkout price. The $1M evaluation shows £699 and £999 on different pages, and the $400K INSTA shows £499 and £699.
- Decide your fixed risk percentage and work out your first-trade risk in dollars.
- Make sure your strategy can win at least 20 times within the profit cap.
- Ask support in writing about leverage, weekend holding, payout methods and processing time.
- Have two ID documents ready for checkout.
- Use code SCOUT at checkout. See our Lux Trading Firm coupon page for how to apply it.
Our verdict
Lux Trading Firm offers the cheapest funding per dollar of any forex firm we track, a full fee refund on its evaluations, a static 6% drawdown with no daily limit and a long scaling ladder. For a disciplined trader who already risks a fixed slice of capital per trade, that's a very good deal. If a refundable fee matters most to you, compare it with the firms on our fee refund list.
The price is control. You trade inside a tight risk formula, every trade's profit is capped, a risk desk reviews your work, and funded traders get personal rules on top. The documents also disagree on some prices and on payout timing. Read the new rules page twice, start with the $100,000 evaluation, and only scale up your purchase once you've proved you can follow the formula.

Does Lux Trading Firm refund the evaluation fee?+
Yes, 100% of the evaluation fee is refunded after you pass and the risk desk approves. INSTA and Elite fees are not refunded.
How do Lux Trading Firm payouts work?+
The rules say you can withdraw any time your account is in profit, with all positions closed. The terms say results for stage 3 and up are calculated monthly, on the first weekend, using a high-water mark. Payout methods and processing times aren't published.
Does Lux Trading Firm have a daily drawdown?+
No daily loss limit is published in the current rules. The only hard limit is a 6% static maximum loss, so a $100,000 account can't go below $94,000.
What is Lux's risk per trade rule?+
You must risk the same fixed percentage of your remaining risk capital (balance minus the drawdown floor) on every trade, up to a maximum of 5%. On a fresh $100,000 account that caps your first trade's risk at $300.
What is the single trade profit limit?+
No single trade, or group of correlated trades, can bank more than 5% of the stage's target. That's $500 on a $100,000 evaluation, $2,400 on $400,000 and $7,500 on $1,000,000.
What leverage does Lux Trading Firm offer?+
The current rules don't say. The older rulebook listed 1:30 on forex, indices, energies and metals and 1:5 on stocks and crypto, but it only applies to accounts activated before 22 September 2025.
Does Lux Trading Firm allow news trading?+
News trading isn't banned in the current rules, but news bracketing is, and you can't move your stop within 30 seconds before or after a news event.
Can I use EAs or copy trading at Lux?+
Copy trading is allowed if every trade follows the risk rules, and well-behaving EAs are allowed through a copy setup or on Match-Trader. High-frequency trading over 2,500 server messages a day is banned.
Is there a time limit at Lux Trading Firm?+
No. There are no minimum or maximum trading days on any account.
