Blue Guardian Review
Dubai-run CFD firm with instant, 1-step, 2-step and Nano plans, plus futures programs.
About Blue Guardian
Blue Guardian is a forex prop firm, based in United Arab Emirates. It sells 5 programs — Instant Standard, 1 Step Standard, 2 Step Standard, 1 Step Nano and 2 Step Nano — with accounts from $5K to $400K and prices from $27. You trade on MT5, Match-Trader and TradeLocker. Funded traders keep up to 100% of profits, paid on demand by crypto and Rise.
Our verdict
“Hold off: Trustpilot has withdrawn the firm's rating over fake reviews, and many recent reviews dispute breaches and closures, even though most plans publish detailed rules and a payout guarantee.”

Blue Guardian is a forex prop firm that sells five ways into a simulated funded account: Instant Standard, 1 Step Standard, 2 Step Standard and two cheaper "Nano" evaluations. You trade forex, indices, metals, commodities and crypto CFDs on MT5, Match-Trader or TradeLocker. Prices start at $26.66 for a $5,000 1 Step Nano, there's no time limit on any evaluation, and the profit split runs from 80% to 90% on the standard plans, or up to 100% on Nano plans if you pay for the add-on.
The catch is in the funded-stage rules. Standard and Instant funded accounts have a "Guardian Shield" that closes your trades at a 1% or 2% floating loss and cuts your split to 50% the first time it fires. Every payout carries a 3% processing fee, and funded accounts can't trade around high-impact news. Trustpilot has also suspended Blue Guardian's rating. This review goes through each plan with dollar examples, so you know what you're signing up for.
The short version
- Best for: forex day traders who use tight stops, want cheap entry, and like having the choice of two-step, one-step or instant funding.
- Not for: news traders, anyone who sits through large floating losses, and traders who need the firm's public reputation to be spotless.
- Biggest strength: price. The 2 Step Nano works out to $2.30 per $1,000 of funding at the $200,000 size, with a 10% static drawdown.
- Biggest risk: the Guardian Shield. One trade that floats 2% red on a funded Standard account (1% on Instant) costs you half your profit split from then on.
- Our score: 4.2 out of 5. It scores very well on price and payout speed, and loses points on rule complexity and an unpublished founding year.
Who runs Blue Guardian
Blue Guardian doesn't publish a founding year on its website. Its about page names Sean Bainton as founder and CEO. The terms and conditions split the business across three companies:
- Blue Guardian Limited, in Gros-Islet, Saint Lucia, runs the simulated trading platforms.
- Iconic Exchange FZCO, in the IFZA Business Park in Dubai, operates the website ("t/a Blue Guardian") and handles payments and educational products.
- Blue Guardian Marketing LLC, also in Dubai, is described as a support and administrative office.
The terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Disputes go to binding arbitration under the International Centre for Dispute Resolution rules, with Dubai as the seat, after a 30-day written notice period. There's a class action waiver. No company registration numbers are given.
All accounts are demo accounts, including funded ones. Blue Guardian says plainly that it isn't a broker and doesn't hold client funds, so your payouts are paid by the firm, not earned from trades in a real market. That's standard for retail prop firms.
The rulebook lives in a public help center, with one article per plan plus general, platform, payout and prohibited-practice pages. Where those articles disagree with the pricing widget or other pages, we say so below.
Programs and prices
Prices below are the struck-through list prices on Blue Guardian's forex pricing page, checked on 28 October 2026. A 35% sale code was running at the time, so the checkout price was lower. Profit splits shown are the defaults; each plan sells a split upgrade as a paid add-on.
Instant Standard
No evaluation. You start on a funded account and can request payouts once you meet the minimum days and consistency rule.
- 3% daily loss and 6% trailing max loss, measured from your highest closed balance. Once you're 6% in profit, the floor locks at your starting balance.
- 5 profitable days of at least 0.5% each before a payout. They don't need to be in a row.
- 20% consistency rule: your best day can't be more than 20% of your profit for the payout period (15% on the $300,000 and $400,000 sizes).
- Guardian Shield at 1% floating loss.
- 80% split by default, 90% with the add-on. Payouts on demand.
- No news trading on Instant Standard accounts bought after 13 November 2025.
| Account | Price | Daily loss | Max loss | Shield trigger (1%) | Per $1K |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $5,000 | $72 | $150 | $300 | $50 | $14.40 |
| $10,000 | $100 | $300 | $600 | $100 | $10.00 |
| $25,000 | $208 | $750 | $1,500 | $250 | $8.32 |
| $50,000 | $324 | $1,500 | $3,000 | $500 | $6.48 |
| $100,000 | $623 | $3,000 | $6,000 | $1,000 | $6.23 |
| $200,000 | $954 | $6,000 | $12,000 | $2,000 | $4.77 |
| $400,000 | $2,200 | $12,000 | $24,000 | $4,000 | $5.50 |
Worked example, $25,000 Instant. Your floor starts at $23,500. Close a trade that takes your balance to $26,000 and the floor moves up to $24,500. Get the balance to $26,500 (6% profit) and the floor locks at $25,000 for good. On any one day you can lose $750, but any single moment where your open trades are $250 underwater triggers the Shield. To get paid you need 5 days of at least $125 profit each, and if you've made $2,000 in the period, no single day can be above $400.
Instant is the most expensive way in per dollar of funding, and the 1% Shield is tight. On $200,000, $300,000 and $400,000 Instant accounts, the first two payouts are capped at $10,000 each.
There's also an Instant Starter ($5,000 only, one payout capped at $250, then the account closes), which we've left out of the tables.
1 Step Standard
One phase, then funded.
- 9% target for accounts bought from 20 August 2026 (10% before that).
- 4% daily loss and 6% trailing max loss, locking at your starting balance once you're 6% up.
- 3 profitable days of at least 0.5% each.
- 85% split by default, 90% with the add-on. Payouts every 14 days, or every 7 with the add-on.
- Guardian Shield at 2% floating loss on the funded account.
| Account | Price | Target (9%) | Daily loss | Max loss | Per $1K |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $5,000 | $40 | $450 | $200 | $300 | $8.00 |
| $10,000 | $66 | $900 | $400 | $600 | $6.60 |
| $25,000 | $134 | $2,250 | $1,000 | $1,500 | $5.36 |
| $50,000 | $200 | $4,500 | $2,000 | $3,000 | $4.00 |
| $100,000 | $398 | $9,000 | $4,000 | $6,000 | $3.98 |
| $200,000 | $736 | $18,000 | $8,000 | $12,000 | $3.68 |
Worked example, $50,000 one-step. Your floor starts at $47,000 and you need $54,500 to pass. Close at $51,000 and the floor rises to $48,000. Close at $53,000 and the floor locks at $50,000, which means you're now trading only with profit at risk. You can lose $2,000 on a given day. Once funded, a floating loss of about $1,000 on open trades trips the Shield.
The trailing drawdown is the hard part here. A run of winners followed by a pullback can stop you out even though you're still above your starting balance.
2 Step Standard
Two phases, and the only Standard plan with a static drawdown.
- Phase 1: 8% target. Phase 2: 4% target.
- 4% daily loss and 8% static max loss, both on the starting balance.
- 3 profitable days of at least 0.5% each, for accounts bought from 20 August 2026 (5 before).
- 85% split by default, 90% with the add-on. Payouts every 14 days, or 7 with the add-on.
- Guardian Shield at 2% on the funded account.
| Account | Price | Phase 1 target | Phase 2 target | Daily loss | Max loss | Per $1K |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $5,000 | $32 | $400 | $200 | $200 | $400 | $6.40 |
| $10,000 | $75 | $800 | $400 | $400 | $800 | $7.50 |
| $25,000 | $154 | $2,000 | $1,000 | $1,000 | $2,000 | $6.16 |
| $50,000 | $232 | $4,000 | $2,000 | $2,000 | $4,000 | $4.64 |
| $100,000 | $463 | $8,000 | $4,000 | $4,000 | $8,000 | $4.63 |
| $200,000 | $930 | $16,000 | $8,000 | $8,000 | $16,000 | $4.65 |
Worked example, $100,000 two-step. Your equity can never drop below $92,000, in either phase or on the funded account, because the floor is static. On any day you can lose $4,000. Phase 1 ends at $108,000, Phase 2 at $104,000. Once funded, a $2,000 floating loss on open trades triggers the Shield.
1 Step Nano
The cheapest one-step, with a stricter consistency rule and no Shield.
- 10% target.
- 4% daily loss and 6% trailing max loss, locking at the starting balance once you're 6% up.
- 50% consistency rule in the evaluation and on the funded account.
- No minimum days in the evaluation. 5 profitable days (0.5% each) on the funded account before a payout.
- 85% split by default, 100% with the add-on. Payouts every 7 days.
- Guardian Shield doesn't apply.
| Account | Price | Target (10%) | Daily loss | Max loss | Per $1K |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $5,000 | $26.66 | $500 | $200 | $300 | $5.33 |
| $10,000 | $38.66 | $1,000 | $400 | $600 | $3.87 |
| $25,000 | $78.66 | $2,500 | $1,000 | $1,500 | $3.15 |
| $50,000 | $160 | $5,000 | $2,000 | $3,000 | $3.20 |
| $100,000 | $320 | $10,000 | $4,000 | $6,000 | $3.20 |
| $200,000 | $585 | $20,000 | $8,000 | $12,000 | $2.93 |
Worked example, $25,000 1 Step Nano. You start with a $23,500 floor that trails your closed balance, a $1,000 daily limit and a $27,500 target. Your best day has to be under 50% of your total profit, so a $1,300 day means you need more than $2,600 in total before you pass. In practice that means at least three winning days.
2 Step Nano
The cheapest plan per dollar, with the widest drawdown and a payout cap.
- Phase 1: 8% target. Phase 2: 5% target.
- 3% daily loss and 10% static max loss.
- No minimum trading days in either phase or on the funded account.
- 50% consistency rule on the funded account only. Breaking it doesn't end the account, it just delays the payout until the ratio is back in line.
- 80% split by default, 100% with the add-on. Payouts every 14 days.
- Payout cap of 2% of the starting balance per cycle. Profit above that stays in the account.
- Guardian Shield doesn't apply.
| Account | Price | Phase 1 target | Phase 2 target | Daily loss | Max loss | Payout cap | Per $1K |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $25,000 | $66.66 | $2,000 | $1,250 | $750 | $2,500 | $500 | $2.67 |
| $50,000 | $127 | $4,000 | $2,500 | $1,500 | $5,000 | $1,000 | $2.54 |
| $100,000 | $239 | $8,000 | $5,000 | $3,000 | $10,000 | $2,000 | $2.39 |
| $200,000 | $460 | $16,000 | $10,000 | $6,000 | $20,000 | $4,000 | $2.30 |
Worked example, $200,000 2 Step Nano. The floor is fixed at $180,000. You can lose $6,000 a day. Phase 1 ends at $216,000 and Phase 2 at $210,000. Once funded, you can take out at most $4,000 every 14 days. At the default 80% split that's $3,200, and after the 3% payout fee about $3,104. A great month on this account still pays roughly the same as a decent one.
Which Blue Guardian plan should you pick?
2 Step Standard is the safest choice for most traders. The 8% static drawdown never moves, the 4% daily limit is reasonable, and you get the 85% to 90% split without a payout cap. The cost is two phases and the Shield on the funded account.
2 Step Nano is the best value on paper and the most forgiving to pass: 10% total room, no minimum days and no Shield. The payout cap is the price you pay. It suits traders who want to get funded cheaply and are happy taking steady, modest withdrawals. It's a poor fit if you expect to make big months.
1 Step Nano is the cheap one-step. With no Shield and payouts every 7 days, it's friendlier on the funded side than the 1 Step Standard, but you need 10% instead of 9% and you have to spread profit across several days.
1 Step Standard makes sense if you want one phase and plan to buy the 7-day payout add-on. The trailing drawdown and the 2% Shield make it the strictest evaluation for traders who sit through drawdowns.
Instant Standard is for traders who already know they can hit 5 profitable days with small, even gains. Between the 1% Shield, the 20% consistency rule and an 80% default split, it asks the most of you.
By cost per $1,000 of funding, the cheapest option is the $200,000 2 Step Nano at $2.30 per $1K. The best value without a payout cap is the $200,000 1 Step Nano at $2.93 per $1K, or the $100,000 2 Step Standard at $4.63 if you want static drawdown.
Trading rules in practice
Drawdown and the daily reset
The two 2 Step plans use static drawdown (8% and 10%). Instant Standard, 1 Step Standard and 1 Step Nano use a 6% trailing drawdown that follows your highest closed balance, not open profit, and locks at your starting balance once you're 6% up. A trade that runs in your favor and then comes back doesn't move the floor until you close it.
The daily loss limit resets at 5:00 PM EST, as Blue Guardian writes it, and each trading day runs from one reset to the next. The limit is measured from whichever is higher at the reset, your balance or your equity. If you end the day with a $100,000 balance and an open trade up $1,000, your equity is $101,000, and on a 4% plan tomorrow's floor is $97,000, not $96,000. Trades left open carry over into the new day.
Guardian Shield
This is the rule that generates the most complaints, so read it twice. On funded 1 Step Standard and 2 Step Standard accounts, open trades are closed automatically if your floating loss reaches 2%. On Instant accounts the trigger is 1%.
- The first time it fires is a soft breach: you can keep trading, but your profit split drops to 50% permanently.
- The second time, the account is permanently breached.
On a $100,000 funded two-step, that means a $2,000 floating loss across your open trades does real damage even though your daily limit is $4,000. Nano accounts don't have the Shield.
Leverage and fees
The help center's platform article lists leverage by plan:
| Account type | FX | Indices | Commodities | Crypto |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 Step evaluations | 1:50 | 1:20 | 1:20 | 1:2 |
| 2 Step evaluations and funded, 1 Step funded | 1:50 | 1:10 | 1:10 | 1:2 |
| Instant Standard and Starter | 1:30 | 1:10 | 1:10 | 1:2 |
The pricing widget shows 1:100 for the 1 Step Standard challenge, which doesn't match the help center's 1:50. Check the leverage on your account before you size trades around it.
Commission is $5 per lot on FX and commodities and $0 on indices and crypto. The help center doesn't say whether that's per side or per round trip. If it's per round trip, a 2-lot EUR/USD trade costs $10. If it's per side, the same trade costs $20 in and out. Spreads vary by platform and market conditions. Stop-out is at a 100% margin level.
News, weekends and overnight
- Challenges: news trading is allowed.
- Funded accounts: you can't open or close trades within 5 minutes before or after high-impact ("red folder") news, including FOMC. Profit from those trades can be removed.
- Instant Standard accounts bought after 13 November 2025 can't trade news at all.
Overnight and weekend holding are allowed on every plan.
EAs, copy trading and hedging
Expert advisors are allowed. Copy trading is allowed only between accounts you legally own. Hedging inside one account is fine, but hedging across separate accounts is prohibited. High-frequency trading, arbitrage bots, latency or reverse arbitrage and strategies built to exploit demo conditions are all banned.
Holding time, margin and allocation limits
- 2-minute minimum hold. Trades closed faster can be flagged as tick scalping.
- 80% margin rule. Using more than 80% of your margin in open trades is treated as gambling and can cost you the payout, the profit or the account.
- $400,000 cap on total active funded allocation, across all account types.
- Personal devices only. Accounts linked by a shared phone, laptop or VPS can be closed. You also can't change the password Blue Guardian gives you.
Minimum activity
You must place at least one trade every 30 days, and the clock starts when the account is created, not when you first trade. Miss it and the account is treated as breached.
How payouts work
Schedule. Standard funded accounts pay every 14 days, counted from the first funded trade and then from each payout request. The 7-day add-on halves that. 1 Step Nano pays every 7 days and 2 Step Nano every 14. Instant accounts are on demand once you meet the 5 profitable days and the consistency rule.
Before you request. Your account must be above its starting balance, you must have met the minimum days, and all positions and orders must be closed. On the trailing-drawdown plans, once the floor has locked you have to leave a buffer of 1% of the starting balance in the account. After you request, the account goes read-only until the payout is approved.
Split and fees. Defaults are 85% on 1 and 2 Step Standard and 1 Step Nano, 80% on Instant Standard and 2 Step Nano. Add-ons raise them to 90% (Standard and Instant) or 100% (Nano). A 3% processing fee comes off every payout. On a $100,000 two-step that makes $5,000 in a cycle, the 85% share is $4,250, and after the fee you receive $4,122.50.
Minimums and methods. Crypto has a $100 minimum and must be under $5,000 per payout. Rise (bank withdrawal) has a $500 minimum and no maximum. If you don't have a Rise account, an invite arrives by email within 24 hours of your request.
Speed. Payouts are processed within 24 business hours. Blue Guardian's guarantee article says that if it misses that window on an eligible payout, you get an additional 10% profit share on that payout. The clock pauses for weekends, bank holidays, compliance or risk reviews, Rise onboarding and anything waiting on you. The homepage says approved payouts take 1 hour on average.
KYC. Required before your first payout on funded and Instant accounts, through Sumsub in the dashboard. A live video check can be requested during a payout review if your documents look unclear.
Scaling. Hit 12% profit within 3 months without breaking a rule, and the account grows by 30% of its starting balance, up to $4,000,000 in total.
Blue Guardian's own pages don't fully agree on a few of these points:
| Topic | Help center | Other Blue Guardian page |
|---|---|---|
| Fee refund | Evaluation fee refunded after your 4th payout (accounts bought from 21 January 2026, not Instant Starter) | Refund policy: "All sales are final" |
| Payout window | 24 business hours, with listed exclusions | Homepage: "24hr payout guarantee" |
| 1 Step Standard challenge leverage | 1:50 on FX | Pricing widget: 1:100 |
The fee refund is the one that matters. The help center is more specific, but keep a copy of the article the day you buy.
Who can sign up
You must be 18 or older. Blue Guardian doesn't accept traders from Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Cuba, Iran, Jordan, Libya, Myanmar, North Korea, the Philippines, Senegal, Syria and Vietnam.
US traders can join, but they're limited to Match-Trader and TradeLocker; MT5 isn't offered to US clients. Finance Magnates reported on 20 February 2024 that Blue Guardian had paused new US sign-ups at the time, so the current US access is a later change.
KYC happens before your first payout, not at sign-up, so make sure your name and documents match before you trade a funded account.
Reputation
On Trustpilot, Blue Guardian's profile (listed as "Blue Guardian CFD") shows no TrustScore, checked on 28 October 2026. Trustpilot displays a warning that the rating "is unavailable due to a breach of our guidelines" and says it has removed a number of fake reviews for this company. The profile shows 2,117 reviews, 741 of them in the last 12 months. The star split is 62% five-star, 8% four-star, 4% three-star, 2% two-star and 24% one-star. The page doesn't show a claimed badge or a reply rate, though some reviews carry company replies. See the Trustpilot page.
Finance Magnates reported the same warning label and suspended rating on 13 March 2025.
The positive reviews mostly mention fast payouts, low spreads and helpful support. The negative ones cluster around the Guardian Shield: traders who say their account was soft-breached while they believed they were within the limits, and frustration with copy-and-paste support replies when they disputed it. There are also complaints about take-profit or stop orders not filling as expected, and a few about payouts rejected after KYC or risk review.
On payouts, Blue Guardian's homepage claims more than $35 million paid and over 100,000 active traders; we can't verify either figure. Finance Magnates Intelligence tracked $1.37 million in crypto payouts from Blue Guardian in Q1 2026, down 14.2% from $1.60 million a year earlier (published 20 April 2026). That covers crypto only, not Rise bank payouts. We found no regulator action against the firm.

Mistakes to avoid at Blue Guardian
- Treating the daily limit as your real limit on a funded Standard or Instant account. The Shield fires at a 2% (or 1%) floating loss, long before the 4% or 3% daily limit. Size every trade so the total open loss can't get there.
- Trading red-folder news when funded. Challenges allow it, funded accounts don't. Don't open or close anything within 5 minutes of a high-impact release.
- Closing scalps in under 2 minutes. They can be flagged as tick scalping.
- Buying a 2 Step Nano to make big months. The 2% per-cycle payout cap means a $100,000 account pays out at most $2,000 every 14 days before the split.
- Using the same device for a friend's account. Shared phones, laptops or VPS setups can get every linked account closed.
- Letting an account sit idle. One trade every 30 days, counted from account creation.
Before you buy: checklist
- Decide if you need static drawdown (2 Step plans) or can live with trailing (1 Step and Instant).
- Read the Guardian Shield section of the plan's help article if you're buying a Standard or Instant plan.
- Check the leverage on your account after it's issued, since the widget and help center differ on the 1 Step Standard.
- Factor in the 3% payout fee and the $500 minimum if you want bank payouts through Rise.
- Save a copy of the fee refund article, because the refund policy page says all sales are final.
- Confirm your country isn't on the restricted list, and if you're in the US, choose Match-Trader or TradeLocker.

Blue Guardian is one of the cheaper ways to get a forex evaluation, and the 2 Step Nano in particular gives you a lot of room for the price. Payout terms are clearly written, the 24-business-hour window comes with compensation if it's missed, and the help center documents every plan in detail.
The problems are on the funded side. The Guardian Shield turns a single bad trade into a permanent 50% split, the payout fee shaves 3% off everything, and Trustpilot has suspended the firm's rating over fake reviews. If you trade with tight stops and small floating losses, those rules may never touch you. If you let trades breathe, pick a Nano plan or another firm.

Reported payout problems
October 2026 · Trustpilot reviews
Among the 23 reviews on Trustpilot's most-recent 1-star view (22 Sep to 27 Oct 2026), 2 describe an earned payout withheld (one confirmed $1,264.50 payout unpaid after a KYC rejection and termination; one $1,914 withheld after a breach) and 1 describes a payout interview the trader could not follow in English; about 13 more dispute breaches or account closures. These are unverified trader claims and the clear payout cases are a small share. The firm's help center says payouts are subject to compliance, rules and risk review and that Risk Team decisions are final.

Worth knowing: Trustpilot hides its rating after removing fake reviews; 2 of 23 recent 1-star reviews report a withheld payout.
