Glossary · Risk per trade

What is risk per trade?

How much of your account you're willing to lose if a trade hits its stop.

Most traders risk 0.25% to 1% per trade on prop accounts so that a losing streak doesn't reach the daily or maximum loss limit.

Example

Risking 0.5% on $100K means a stop-out costs $500.
