Our verdict
“Suits traders who want low one-time fees and flexible payout timing and who keep to the hedging and flatten-by-close rules. Recent complaints about hedging-related bans are worth reading before buying.”

Lucid Trading is a US futures prop firm that sells one-time-fee evaluations with no monthly subscription and no activation fee. You trade futures on equity indices, currencies, energy, metals and agriculture on NinjaTrader, Tradovate, TradingView or a long list of Rithmic platforms. Pass, and you trade a simulated funded account for payouts at a 90% split, with a path to a live account later.
The prices are low and the payouts are fast. A $25,000 LucidFlex evaluation costs $65, the cheapest plan works out to $1.91 per $1,000 of funding, and Lucid advertises "15ish min from request to bank". The catch is that each of its four plans has its own mix of consistency rules, payout caps, buffers and news rules, the drawdown trails your end-of-day balance, and every position is closed at 4:45 PM ET. This review lays out each plan with dollar examples so you can pick the one that fits how you trade.
The short version
- Best for: intraday futures traders who want a cheap one-time fee, quick funded activation and fast payouts.
- Not for: swing traders, anyone who needs to hold overnight, and traders who make most of their money on one or two big days.
- Biggest strength: payout speed and flexibility. You can request any day you're eligible, and there's no activation fee after you pass.
- Biggest risk: the end-of-day trailing drawdown combined with consistency rules and per-payout caps, which limit how fast you can actually withdraw.
- Our score: 4.0 out of 5. Payouts earn full marks, value is good, and it loses points for a short, unpublished track record.
Who runs Lucid Trading
Lucid's terms of use are an agreement with Lucid Trading Group LLC, governed by Delaware law. The footer gives an address at 3500 S Dupont Hwy, Dover, Delaware, which is a registered-agent address rather than an office. The terms point lawsuits to Delaware or US federal courts in one section and to binding arbitration under American Arbitration Association rules in another, and any claim must be brought within one year. The terms were last modified on 20 March 2025.
Lucid doesn't publish a founding year. The site footer reads "@2024-2026", which suggests a short history.
Evaluations and funded accounts are simulated. Lucid says it moves consistent traders to a live brokerage account funded with its own capital after enough payouts, and the help center describes how that "move to live" works.
The rulebook lives in Lucid's help center, split by plan. Many articles are dated July or August 2026, though some carry only "updated over a week ago" labels.
Programs and prices
Lucid sells four plans in four sizes. Prices are list prices from the homepage plan cards, checked on 28 October 2026, before any coupon. The default card has the optional daily loss limit switched on; turning it off raises the evaluation price, and that higher price is shown only at checkout.
Rules shared by all plans:
- Drawdown is end-of-day trailing: your Max Loss Limit follows your highest closing balance, then locks at the starting balance plus $100 once you close above the "Initial Trail Balance".
- Daily loss limits are soft. Hitting one stops trading until the next session but doesn't fail the account.
- No time limit, but 30 days without a trade worth at least $1 of profit or loss gets the account deleted.
- All positions close at 4:45 PM ET on weekdays.
LucidPro
The "one-day pass" plan: no consistency rule in the evaluation, stricter payout rules afterward.
- One phase, no minimum days, no evaluation consistency rule.
- Funded: 90% split, payouts need a minimum profit per cycle, a buffer and a 40% consistency rule.
| Account | Price | Profit target | Daily loss | Max loss | Max size | Reset |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $25,000 | $108 | $1,250 | $600* | $1,000 | 2 minis | $75 |
| $50,000 | $172 | $3,000 | $1,200 | $2,000 | 4 minis | $120 |
| $100,000 | $272 | $6,000 | $1,800 | $3,000 | 6 minis | $190 |
| $150,000 | $365 | $9,000 | $2,700 | $4,500 | 10 minis | $255 |
*The homepage and funded article show a $600 daily limit on the $25,000 account, while the evaluation and daily-loss articles list none. Assume $600 applies.
Note the percentages shift by size: the $25,000 target is 5% and the others 6%, and the $100,000 and $150,000 drawdowns are 3% rather than 4%.
Worked example, $50,000 LucidPro. Your floor starts at $48,000. Close day one at $51,000 and it rises to $49,000. Once you close above $52,100 it locks at $50,100 for good. You pass at $53,000, which can happen in one session. If you lose $1,200 in a day, trading stops until the next session, but the account survives.
LucidFlex
The cheapest plan, with a consistency rule in the evaluation and none once funded.
- One phase with a 40% consistency rule (best day no more than 40% of profit), or 50% with an add-on. That means at least 3 days, or 2 with the add-on.
- Funded: no consistency rule, no buffer, 90% split, and a contract scaling plan.
- Payouts need 5 winning days and are capped at 50% of profit.
| Account | Price | Profit target | Daily loss | Max loss | Max size | Reset |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $25,000 | $65 | $1,250 | $600 | $1,000 | 2 minis | $45 |
| $50,000 | $115 | $3,000 | $1,200 | $2,000 | 4 minis | $80 |
| $100,000 | $215 | $6,000 | $1,800 | $3,000 | 6 minis | $150 |
| $150,000 | $323 | $9,000 | $2,700 | $4,500 | 10 minis | $225 |
Worked example, $100,000 LucidFlex. Your floor starts at $97,000 and trails your best close. To pass you need $6,000, and at 40% no single day can be more than $2,400 of that, so plan on at least three good days. Once funded you start at 3 minis; you get 4 at $1,000 of profit, 5 at $2,000 and the full 6 at $3,000. After 5 winning days of at least $200 each, with $4,000 of profit, you can request up to $2,000 (50%), and at 90% you receive $1,800.
Lucid's About page promises "no daily loss limit with LucidFlex" and says funded traders "lose the consistency rules". In practice the daily limit is an on/off choice at checkout, and the evaluation still has the 40% consistency rule.
LucidDaily
Built around daily payouts, and the only plan where news trading fails you.
- One phase with a 50% consistency rule by default (40% optional), so you can pass in 2 days.
- Evaluation drawdown can be end-of-day or intraday; intraday is cheaper, though Lucid doesn't publish the difference.
- Trading red-folder news is a hard breach.
- Funded: payouts any day from profit above a buffer, and a maximum daily profit that moves you to a live account.
| Account | Price | Profit target | Daily loss | Max loss | Reset | Funded max daily profit |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $25,000 | $86 | $1,250 | $600 | $1,000 | $60 | $6,000 |
| $50,000 | $122 | $3,000 | $1,200 | $2,000 | $85 | $8,000 |
| $100,000 | $200 | $6,000 | $1,800 | $3,000 | $140 | $10,000 |
| $150,000 | $286 | $9,000 | $2,700 | $4,500 | $200 | $12,000 |
Worked example, $150,000 LucidDaily. At $286 this is Lucid's cheapest funding per dollar, $1.91 per $1,000. Your floor starts at $145,500. You need $9,000, with no day above $4,500 at the default 50% setting. Once funded, the buffer is $154,600, so with the balance at $157,000 you could request $2,400, and $2,160 would reach you at 90%.
LucidDirect
Instant funding: no evaluation, higher price, stricter payout rules.
- Start trading a funded account within minutes of buying.
- 20% consistency rule on every payout cycle, and at least 5 trading days before a payout.
- Larger drawdowns on the $100,000 and $150,000 sizes than the evaluation plans.
| Account | Price | Daily loss | Max loss | First profit goal | Max payout (1-3 / 4-5) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $25,000 | $329 | None | $1,000 | $1,500 | $1,000 / $1,000 |
| $50,000 | $515 | $1,200 | $2,000 | $3,000 | $2,000 / $2,500 |
| $100,000 | $700 | $2,100 | $3,500 | $6,000 | $2,500 / $3,000 |
| $150,000 | $836 | $3,000 | $5,000 | $9,000 | $3,000 / $3,500 |
After the first payout, the profit goal drops to $1,250, $2,500, $3,500 and $4,500 per cycle.
Worked example, $100,000 LucidDirect. Your floor starts at $96,500. Before the first payout you need $6,000 of profit with no day above $1,200 (20%), which means at least five solid days. Then you can request up to $2,500, and $2,250 reaches you at 90%. That covers the $700 fee on the first payout, but it takes more profit than the $6,000 target on a LucidPro evaluation that costs $272.

Which Lucid Trading plan should you pick?
For most traders, LucidFlex is the best value. It's the cheapest at small sizes ($65 for $25,000), the funded stage has no consistency rule or buffer, and the contract scaling plan protects you while you build a cushion. The cost is the 50%-of-profit payout cap.
Pick LucidPro if you trade in bursts and want to pass in one big day. Expect the 40% consistency rule and the buffer to slow your first payout.
LucidDaily has the lowest cost per $1,000 at $1.91 on the $150,000 size and pays from any profit above the buffer. Avoid it entirely if you trade around news.
LucidDirect costs roughly 2.3 to 5 times as much as an evaluation of the same size and demands 20% consistency. It's for traders who'd rather pay up than sit through an evaluation.
Trading rules in practice
Drawdown and the trading day
Lucid uses end-of-day drawdown: the floor moves only on closing balances, so intraday swings don't drag it up. It locks once you close above the Initial Trail Balance:
| Account | Max loss | Initial Trail Balance | Locked floor |
|---|---|---|---|
| $25,000 | $1,000 | $26,100 | $25,100 |
| $50,000 | $2,000 | $52,100 | $50,100 |
| $100,000 | $3,000 | $103,100 | $100,100 |
| $150,000 | $4,500 | $154,600 | $150,100 |
Positions are closed automatically at 4:45 PM ET Monday to Friday, and trading reopens at 6:00 PM ET Sunday to Thursday. Holding past 4:45 PM doesn't fail the account, but you can't hold overnight or over the weekend. On holidays with early closes, you must be flat before the market closes.
On funded accounts, once you close above the Initial Trail Balance, the fixed daily limit is replaced by a "LucidScale" limit of 60% of your highest end-of-day profit. With a best close of $4,000 in profit, your daily limit becomes $2,400. Note that the plan cards describe this as 60% of "Peak EOD Balance", while the daily-loss article defines it as 60% of peak profit.
Commissions
Lucid publishes per-side commissions per contract:
| Contract | Per side | Round trip |
|---|---|---|
| ES, NQ | $1.75 | $3.50 |
| MES, MNQ | $0.50 | $1.00 |
| CL | $2.00 | $4.00 |
| GC | $2.30 | $4.60 |
Ten round trips a day with 2 NQ contracts is 20 contracts, or $70 in commission. On a $50,000 LucidPro with a $1,200 daily limit, that's nearly 6% of your daily room before price moves at all.
News trading
News trading is allowed on LucidPro, LucidFlex and LucidDirect, and you can enter or exit around scheduled or unscheduled releases. On LucidDaily, trading red-folder news is a hard breach. The help article doesn't define a time window, so treat the minutes around any red-folder release as off-limits on that plan.
Bots, copiers and scalping
- Automation and trade copiers are allowed, as long as they follow the rules. You carry the risk of any software errors.
- Scaling in and averaging down are allowed; martingale is "strongly discouraged".
- Microscalping is prohibited: if more than 50% of your profit comes from trades held 5 seconds or less, the account is flagged for review. Repeat cases can lose those profits and be banned.
- High-frequency trading is prohibited.
Hedging
Lucid's hedging rule is wider than most. You can't hold long and short on the same contract in one account, across your own accounts, across other people's accounts, or across firms. Trading correlated markets in separate accounts, such as long ES in one and short NQ in another, is also banned. A first flag resets the accounts to the previous day's balance without restoring drawdown; repeated cases breach all the accounts involved.
Account limits and inactivity
You can hold up to 10 evaluation accounts per household, 5 funded accounts across all plans and 5 live accounts. An account with no trading that produces at least $1 of profit or loss in 30 calendar days is deleted.
How payouts work
Lucid has no payout schedule. Once you meet a plan's conditions, you can request on any day. The minimum request is $500, requests can't be edited or cancelled, and the split is 90%.
| Plan | Before each payout | Maximum per request |
|---|---|---|
| LucidPro | Profit goal of $250 / $500 / $750 / $1,000 per cycle, 40% consistency, balance above the buffer | Payout 1: $1,000 / $2,000 / $2,500 / $3,000; later: $1,500 / $2,500 / $3,000 / $3,500 |
| LucidFlex | 5 winning days of $100 / $150 / $200 / $250, positive net profit | 50% of profit, up to $1,000 / $2,000 / $2,500 / $3,000 |
| LucidDaily | Balance above the buffer, positive net profit since the last payout | All profit above the buffer |
| LucidDirect | Profit goal, 20% consistency, 5 trading days | See the LucidDirect table above |
Figures run $25,000 / $50,000 / $100,000 / $150,000. The buffer is the starting balance plus the max loss plus $100, the same as the Initial Trail Balance.
Worked payout, $50,000 LucidPro. You build the balance to $54,500 with a best day of $900. Profit is $4,500, so your best day is 20%, inside the 40% rule. The amount above the $52,100 buffer is $2,400, but payout 1 is capped at $2,000. Request $2,000 and $1,800 reaches you.
Methods:
| Method | Who can use it | Timing stated |
|---|---|---|
| Plaid | US traders | Instant bank transfer |
| WorkMarket by ADP (bank or PayPal) | US and international | As early as the next business day |
| Crypto (BTC, ETH, LTC, USDT, USDC) | International only | Not stated |
Lucid's pages describe payout speed differently:
| Source | What it says |
|---|---|
| Homepage | "15ish min from request to bank" |
| Payout methods article | About 15 minutes once approved |
| Plan payout articles | Funds deducted within minutes of approval, disbursed within 2 business days |
Plan on 2 business days and treat anything faster as a bonus.
Going live. Completing payout 5 on LucidPro, LucidFlex or LucidDirect, or hitting LucidDaily's maximum daily profit, can move you to a live account, though Lucid's risk team decides. Live accounts start at $0 with an end-of-day drawdown equal to the funded max loss, daily payouts, no daily loss limit and no consistency rule. You can instead take a cashout of 50% of the live starting balance at 90%.
Fees and refunds. There's no activation fee and no subscription. Lucid's refund policy is "a strict no refund policy" for any account that has been traded; untraded accounts may be refunded at its discretion. There's no fee refund with payouts either. LucidPro accounts bought before 28 November 2025 keep 100% of their first $10,000.
KYC. The help articles we read don't say when identity checks happen. Ask support before your first payout request.
Who can sign up
Lucid's restricted list covers citizens and residents of Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Angola, the Bahamas, Barbados, Belarus, Belize, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Botswana, Bulgaria, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, the Central African Republic, Côte d'Ivoire, Cuba, both Congos, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea, Haiti, Iceland, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jamaica, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Lebanon, Liberia, Libya, Lithuania, Mali, Mauritius, Mongolia, Montenegro, Morocco, Mozambique, Myanmar, Namibia, Nicaragua, Nigeria, North Korea, North Macedonia, Pakistan, Panama, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Russia, Senegal, Serbia, Seychelles, Slovenia, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Trinidad and Tobago, Tunisia, Turkey, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Venezuela, Vietnam, Yemen and Zimbabwe, plus Crimea, Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk and Sevastopol.
That's a long list, with several EU countries (Bulgaria, Lithuania, Slovenia) and large markets like Indonesia, Pakistan, the Philippines, South Africa and Turkey. Check it before you buy.
US traders are Lucid's core market, and Plaid bank payouts are US-only. Oddly, the terms of use say the website is provided "for use only by persons located in the United States", even though Lucid offers crypto payouts specifically for international traders. You must be 18 or older.
Reputation
On Trustpilot, Lucid Trading scores 4.5 out of 5 from 8,018 reviews, checked on 28 October 2026. 7,606 of those came in the last 12 months. 88% give five stars, 2% four stars, under 1% each three and two stars, and 9% one star. The profile was claimed in April 2025 and Lucid pays for a Trustpilot subscription. It showed a 0% reply rate to negative reviews, even though the page also says it typically replies within 24 hours. See the Trustpilot page.
The positive reviews mostly mention fast payouts, sometimes within the hour, clear rules, an easy dashboard and quick support. The criticism mostly covers the evaluation consistency rule, slow support on disputes, disagreements over drawdown calculations and rules that felt restrictive at payout time.
Lucid's homepage claims "$700M+ earned by traders" and "500K+ traders". These are its own figures; we found no independent check of them.
In the news, Finance Magnates reported on 17 November 2025 that Lucid's CEO told traders the ProjectX platform would stop serving third-party firms. ProjectX isn't on Lucid's platform list today. We found no regulator action naming Lucid Trading.

- Bulenox: worth a look if you want Rithmic.
- OneUp Trader: worth a look if you want cheaper funding ($1.60 vs $1.91 per $1K) and Rithmic.
- Tradeify: worth a look if you want Rithmic or WealthCharts.
Mistakes to avoid at Lucid Trading
- Trading news on LucidDaily. It's a hard breach on that plan, even though it's fine on the other three.
- Hedging with correlated markets. Long ES in one account and short NQ in another counts as prohibited hedging.
- Forgetting the 4:45 PM ET close. Your positions will be closed for you, often at a worse price than you'd choose.
- Chasing one big day on LucidPro or LucidDirect. The 40% and 20% consistency rules block payouts until the rest of your days catch up.
- Microscalping. If more than half your profit comes from trades of 5 seconds or less, the account is flagged.
- Requesting a payout and then trading into the buffer. A trade that drops your balance before processing can get the request denied.
Before you buy: checklist
- Confirm your country isn't on the restricted list.
- Choose the daily loss limit setting: on is cheaper and adds on-demand payouts, off costs more and removes the daily cap.
- On LucidFlex and LucidDaily, pick the 40% or 50% consistency option before checkout.
- Check the commission on your main contract and fit it into your daily limit.
- Make sure your strategy never needs to hold past 4:45 PM ET.
- Use code SCOUT at checkout. See our Lucid Trading coupon page for how to apply it.
Our verdict
Lucid Trading is a strong low-cost option for US intraday futures traders. A one-time fee, no activation charge and payouts you can request any day are a good combination, and LucidFlex at $65 to $323 is one of the cheaper ways into a funded futures account.
The trade-offs are a trailing drawdown on everything, a different consistency and payout rule for each plan, and a firm with no published founding year. Pick one plan, read its four or five help articles end to end, and size your trading for the end-of-day floor.
